Roberto Jimenez wins big at Polaris

    “The Natural” Roberto Jimenez just got $20,000 richer, added two more submission wins to his record, and got a shiny new belt.

    The UFC Fight Pass event showcased an exciting display of submission grappling. Jimenez submitted Hunter Colvin and Jed Hue in Southampton, UK on Saturday, Nov. 5th. He also secured the title of Polaris 22 Middleweight Grand Prix Champion along with those submission wins.

    Jimenez controlled every match with his pressure and fast pace. He submitted two of three opponents in the exciting eight-man bracket.

    “The Natural” defeated Shane Fishman by points and then Hunter Colvin by triangle. The triangle finish in his second match gave Jimenez even more confidence as he headed into the finals and submitted Jed Hue via katagatame.

    In the co-main event featured UK’s own Welsh grappler and Polaris three-division champ, Ash Williams against longtime UFC veteran Carlos Condit. Carlos saved his knee and tapped out to an an inside heel hook.
